Art — an unbalanced process
I’m looking forward to tomorrow evening...
Accepting and celebrating a slower pace of life due to Parkinson's Disease
Welcome to our Slow Movements website. My name is Ken Hoppmann. Shortly after receiving a Parkinson's diagnosis in March 2023, I embarked on a 100-day writing journey. In my daily reflections on life with Parkinson's Disease, I've attempted to capture a wide range of emotions and address many practical concerns for moving forward. I've tried to set my writing in a largely unedited and extemporaneous fashion so my reflections explore ideas as they present themselves in my daily experience.
My wife and I invite you, the reader, to interact with towering thinkers of the past as well as sharing in our humble experiences as we try to make sense of my new limitations. I'm committed to writing with a high level of transparency and honesty, so my daily reflections offer a thoughtful and hopeful reading experience for anyone navigating life after a challenging diagnosis. We're so glad you came to visit.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow evening...
Lying flat, don’t sit or bend...
A busy weekend, left me weakened. I reflect...
Early rising, right sizing, and realizing my limits for the day...
