Several weeks ago, I embarked on a project within a project. I had intended to play a series of my favorite slow movements from sonatas by Beethoven, Mozart, and Haydn, and record some thoughts or notes from my efforts. After only a week or so, I suspended my slow movement project and stopped writing about it. As is often the case, the project remained firmly lodged within my subconscious and it continued to grow there. I have since returned to the piano daily to continue playing the slow movements I had originally intended to practice.

This entry is designed to provide a list of my chosen pieces, as well as the dates I played them. I might also include annotations for some of the pieces, if that is warranted. This list represents the beginning of a project, that will hopefully exist in sound as well as in writing. True to form, I anticipate that the project will undergo several permutations before it settles into its final form. I will notate those changes when they happen.

For now, here is the list of slow movements that I have played. I will continue to add more until I reach the end of the list.
